ContractorHub.com Chooses Netfish to Provide XML Foundation
Joint Agreement to Enable Seamless Business Process Integration for the Construction Industry
Washington, D.C. – A/E/C Systems 2000 – June 7, 2000 – ContractorHub.com, a leading business-to-business (B2B) e-marketplace for the construction industry, and Netfish Technologies, Inc., a leader in XML-based B2B e-commerce solutions, today announced a joint agreement to provide integration of industry-leading B2B solutions to the construction industry through ContractorHub.com.
Using the Netfish XDI™ eProcess™ platform as the core infrastructure for delivering targeted value-added services, ContractorHub.com will integrate and optimize a variety of business processes, from real-time e-procurement, logistics/distribution management and invitations to bid, to inventory checking, online payment processing and more.
“Netfish offers an impressive, proven approach to B2B data exchange on the Internet, capable of handling the business processes of multiple trading partners and clients,” says The Hub's Executive Vice President. “XDI eProcess complements our unique exchange format and is expected to substantially augment ContractorHub.com’s systems integration (SI) strategy, enabling contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to unify and streamline business processes and reduce duplication of effort.”
ContractorHub.com chose the Netfish Technologies™ XDI eProcess platform in part for its significant time-to-market advantages. Actuating cross-platform integration of comprehensive marketplace services, the technology will enable seamless XML-integration with partnering industry solutions such as Timberline cost estimating and accounting solutions, Schneider shipping and logistics solutions and Actrade Capital’s unsecured revolving credit facility.
The XDI eProcess platform will also facilitate the SI services that ContractorHub.com offers to companies that want to leverage existing core business processes, providing custom solutions for seamless interaction between the Hub and existing upstream and downstream processes.
Within ContractorHub.com, bill-of-materials information produced from existing legacy systems will automatically build the Request for Quotation (RFQ). Purchase orders and invoices—today created automatically in ContractorHub.com—will feed into accounting systems and inventory management systems. This streamlining and optimization of current business processes brings potentially the most positive impact on the bottom line for contractors, suppliers and owners.
“We are pleased by ContractorHub.com’s endorsement of our XDI eProcess platform, and look forward to working with them to create innovative and integrated B2B applications for their marketplace customers,” said Jim Dills, Vice President of the Net Markets Business Unit at Netfish. “This partnership furthers our mission to enable customers, manufacturers and suppliers to seamlessly automate their business processes while transacting directly over the Internet.”
The Netfish XDI eProcess platform is a unique set of business tools and services that makes it easy for eMarketplace operators to implement and administer advanced B2B services. The Netfish XDI Process Hub builds on Netfish's backend integration and collaborative workflow technology to enable end-to-end B2B process integration. The Netfish XDI Process Hub is supported by a Resource Library of industry-specific XML business documents, an update service for the Resource Library, open distributed directory services, end-to-end security for B2B transactions and customizable trading partner profiles and workflows. Combined with the extensive support offered by Netfish's Professional Service Organization, e-marketplace operators have everything they need to unify their customers' incompatible ERP, EAI and EDI systems, facilitate any-to-any electronic business document exchange security over the Internet and automate and manage the workflows for complex B2B transactions.
ContractorHub.com seeks to remove the fragmentation inherent in today’s construction processes through implementation of new-generation Web technologies and industry alliances with leading technology and service providers. The Hub enables contractors and suppliers to trim transactional costs and reap time savings while leveraging traditional work processes.
